Mention the Aussie flag, and you′re sure to be swamped with correspondence pro and con. I was bombarded with opinions last week after incautiously suggesting it may be time to take another look at the Australian flag.
The most curious suggestion from a reader was that the presence of the Union Jack in the corner of our flag offered "security and a democratic society". I would have thought our Constitution provided that.
