The unique flag shape is reminiscent of a boomerang, a symbol know nationally and internationally to represent both Aboriginals and Australians. The green and gold are our national colours. Federation star to represent our states and territories. The flag is inspired by the Nepal flag.

The orange stands for rocks, the yellow stands for the sun and sand, the blue stands for the ocean and the sky, also it is on the side because Australia is a Island surrounded by water, the green stands for land and nature and the white stands for peace. All of the colours when mixed together = black, and black stands for the original owners of Australia's skin colour. The southern cross has eight points because Australia has six states and Australia has two territories, I also have the southern cross because everyone can see it in Australia and the southern hemisphere.

This design embraces the symbols most associated with Australia, and takes inspiration and simple design principles from other countries flags, such as the Maple Leaf of Canada. It steps away from the current symbols and colours, in an attempt to present a new flag for a new nation.

A Kangaroo - the national animal indigenous to Australia - is displayed facing right, leaping forward, as read from left-to-right. The Southern Cross, a symbol which has been closely associated with Australian History since colonisation, is displayed on the right.

The devices are displayed in gold against a green field – Colours representing the Golden Wattle, Australia’s national flower – which are our national colours and have become associated with Australia at national and international sporting events.

The use of these colours therefore allude to the importance sport holds in Australian culture and identity, whereas the use of the devices together can symbolise unity between the different cultures that make up Australia today.

The design could be counterchanged to display green devices against a yellow field to better fit the colour guides. Alternatively, the Southern Cross could be swapped for the Commonwealth Star. The simple design makes it easy for children to draw, and can be adapted for other flags for use in the country.

The Advance Australia Flag.

This design combines already familiar elements of national symbolism with solid design principles, creating an instantly recognisable Australian flag.

The central motif of chevrons embodies the spirit of “Advance Australia” representing progress, with the national colours of green and gold representing “nature’s gifts” and the “wealth for toil” respectively. These are set against a blue background, representing the borderless potential of the wide open skies and deep blue seas that surround Australia. When displayed vertically (with the hoist at the bottom), the chevrons and star beneath them also form the letter “A” for Australia.

The stars on the flag are the same seven-pointed Commonwealth Stars of the existing flag. The star at the hoist represents the unity of Australia, with the three stars on the fly representing the three origins of her people - Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and immigrants from all nations. Together, all four stars form the horizontal shape of the Southern Cross in the night sky.

The Advance Australia Flag is a symbol of a proud, independent and sovereign nation. It conveys the forward-looking spirit of Australia, and the aspiration of her people to move towards reconciliation and unite behind a shared sense of national identity.

The Red earth and the gold sun is a reference to the Indigenous history of the coninent. The Southern cross represents our place on the globe and the Federation star signifies the modern nation of Australia,
Essentially, this design is a merger of the current flag and the aboriginal flag.

A new flag for Australia. Kangaroo Sun! A flag that represents an independent and sovereign nation, with connections to the earth and sky. Green and gold are the national colours of Australia. The kangaroo logo is already in use and well recognised icon for Australia. The sun also holds strong connections for the First Nations people.
