Crux Australis is the official journal of the Flag Society of Australia (Flags Australia), which is a non-profit organisation whose members share an interest in flags generally and the flags of Australia specifically. Flags Australia neither supports a change of flag, nor is it a patriotic group supporting retention of the current flag. Flags Australia has a website at www.flagsaustralia.com.au which includes a concise summary of the cases for and against the adoption of a new national flag for Australia and a full indexing of all issues of Crux Australis.

The Flag Bulletin is the bimonthly journal of the Flag Research Center in the United States and is officially recognised by the International Federation of Vexillological Associations for the publication of scientific and scholarly articles relating to vexillology. The Flag Research Center was established in 1962 to serve the needs of vexillology (the study of flag history and symbolism) on a worldwide scale. The primary tasks of the Center are to collect, preserve, organise and disseminate information on all aspects of political symbols, especially state heraldry and flags of every type, era and area. To this end the Center maintains an extensive library; compiles and publishes books and other materials; aids in the promotion of international cooperation between vexillologists; and serves as a consultant on all aspects of flag design, history and usage.
