This design incorporates the most popularly embraced aspects of a potential new flag for Australia: blue, green, and gold colours, the retention of the Commonwealth Star and the Southern Cross, as well as the layout popularised by the excellent flag of the Northern Territory. The somewhat unique element of this design is the rarely proposed green-on-gold Commonwealth star, which - along with the perfectly square gold field - presents a bold and distinctive, yet instantly recognisable symbol.
