The Green and Gold Flag
Depicting our national colours of green and gold as well as the southern Cross, this design is simple but distinctive as our national flag.
1. The hoist side features a black field reminiscent of the night sky.
2. Taken from the current flag design, the Southern Cross, a guiding symbol of our southern hemisphere location, is prominently featured on the hoist side.
3. Green and gold are our national symbols representing Australians in sport and culture both locally and abroad. Yellow represents the sun in the sky whilst green represents the land and its flora.
4. An angular chevron pattern evokes the boomerang, a symbol of Indigenous heritage, subtly uniting these elements into a unified national emblem.
