December 1997
Sunday 7th – We've added to our pages on the Professional Flag Design Competition and Exhibition with an article about the judging process and photographs from the judging day. We've has also received another award for our web site! The Quote of the Month! for December has been added.
November 1997
Sunday 9th – We've added a search facility on our home page! We hope it helps you find key information faster and easier (especially now that the Ausflag site is approaching 300 pages!) Four Newspaper Articles have been added. The Quote of the Month! for November has been added.
October 1997
Sunday 19th – Entries are now closed in the Professional Design Competition and Exhibition. Ausflag wishes to thank everyone for their interest. The response was tremendous, with entries received from over 1000 people. Judging begins later this month and the best 100 designs will be publicly announced and displayed on Australia Day 1998.
Wednesday 1st – We've made our site better than ever with new page banners, exciting new graphics, improved page layout, and a bit of reorganisation! The major change is to the Flags Since 1788 and New Flag Designs sections. We've split the Flags Since 1788 into three subsections: National Flags, State and Territory Flags and Other Australian Flags. Each of these pages contains animated flag images – so if you're on a slow link you may prefer to use the text only links to specific flags on the Flags Since 1788 page! The New Flag Designs section has been completely reorganised and also split into three sections: Ausflag Promotions, Ausflag Competitions and Other New Flag Designs. These pages contain animated flags as well, so again text links are provided on the New Flag Designs top level page. Many thanks to Lorenzo Poletto and the team at Nice and Easy Multimedia for generating all of these beautiful animated flags. Due to the overwhelming demand for design briefs, the Australian Flag Professional Design Competition and Exhibition has been extended for two weeks – entries now close on 14 October! The question of voting rights discrimination amongst non-citizens has flared again – read the latest developments! Six Newspaper Articles have been added. Finally, the Quote of the Month! for October has been added. Our web site site now comprises a whopping 287 pages of information, 104 flag images (29 animated), 9 cartoons and 8 posters!

Monday 1st – The Australian Internet Awards are on again! If you think our web site is one of the nation's best, we'd be honoured to receive your vote for Australia's most popular web site! We did well in last year's competition - but we'd like to go one better this time! We'd also like to thank all of our supporters out there who saw us through to our one-millionth hit on 28 July 1997. We're glad you like our site and we hope you'll keep coming back! We're planning bigger and bolder additions to this site in the near future - including on-line voting for alternative flag designs! Four Newspaper Articles have been added. The Quote of the Month! for September has been added. And icons for linking to the Ausflag site are provided in our new page Linking to the Ausflag site.

Monday 28th – Ausflag is pleased to announce that the Chair of ATSIC, Gatjil Djerrkura OAM, has become a Director of Ausflag. More details are provided in our latest Media Release. Ausflag is also pleased to announce the Australian Flag Professional Design Competition and Exhibition. This competition is open to professional designers only, and entries close on 30 September 1997.
Sunday 20th – One Newspaper Article by Gough Whitlam has been added. More of Harold Scruby's biting Letters to the Editor on various symbolic issues have been added. Our page of Other WWW Links has been updated.
Tuesday 1st – You may have already noticed that we've updated our home page and directory buttons! But the major addition to the site is the on-line Ausflag membership form, enabling our supporters to join more easily and quickly! We still have our print-out form if your browser does not support forms, or for those who prefer this method. The Quote of the Month! for July has been added.

Monday 3rd – A major revamp to the site with a redesigned home page and a major redesign to the New Flag Designs page so that you can see all the designs at a glance. We've also recently launched our 1997 Flag Campaign which gained wide media coverage. We've added a page displaying Ausflag's Web Site Awards. Three Newspaper Articles and the Quote of the Month! for February has been added. Every page at the site has been updated to conform to the new HTML 3.2 World Wide Web standard. Our site now comprises 254 pages of information, 77 flag images, 9 cartoons and 7 posters.
January 1997
Thursday 2nd – We've added the 23 speeches given on 11 and 12 December 1996 during the Parliamentary Debates on the Flags Amendment Bill 1996. The Quote of the Month! for January has been added.
