Saturday 7th – Former NSW National Party Minister Robert Webster has joined the Ausflag Board. Read Mr Webster's reasons for joining in our Media Release and a Sun-Herald article. The Quote of the Month! for December has been added.
November 1996
Wednesday 27th – There has been great interest in Ausflag's campaign for a new New South Wales flag. We've added three newspaper articles covering the campaign, including a Sydney Morning Herald Editorial wholeheartedly supporting adoption of a new flag for NSW. We've also added photographs of our NSW flag display in William St, Sydney.
Friday 22nd - Ausflag has launched a new major campaign seeking support for a new flag for New South Wales. In this new section you'll find the new designs as well as newspaper reports and other information as the campaign progresses. We've also added some new designs for the Australian flag in our Latest Flag Concepts page, including a design by the former Minister for the Olympics in NSW, Bruce Baird. Our poster Our Own Flag has also been updated to show the latest designs. A new Tandberg cartoon and three more Newspaper and Magazine Articles have been added.
Friday 1st - We welcome Nick Greiner to the Ausflag Board and congratulate him on his election as co-chairman. Here's what Nick Greiner has to say about the current Australian flag. A new section Voting Rights Discrimination has been added to more fully canvass the issue of just who should have voting rights in Australia. This section contains newspaper articles and letters from prominant anti-discrimination activists. Our poster Australian Flag Mythology has been updated. Four more Newspaper and Magazine Articles and November's Quote of the Month! have been added. The Ausflag WWW site now contains 212 pages of information, 71 flag images, 6 posters, and 8 cartoons.

Monday 30th – New additions to the Flag Debate section include David Jull's reply to Ausflag's letter to the Prime Minister, six more Newspaper and Magazine Articles and our latest two Media Releases. The Questions and Answers page has been expanded and October's Quote of the Month! has been added.
August 1996
Thursday 29th - Another major update! Besides a new Quote of the Month! and a new poster Australian Flag Mythology, a new page called Questions and Answers has been added. The major additions are in the Flag Debate and Reference Library sections, with Parliamentary Debates underway on the Flags Amendment Bill 1996. Also, flag debate Articles and Speeches have been moved to their own page and a new section Cartoon Corner! shows the lighter side of the flag debate. A new opinion poll and Newspaper and Magazine Article has been added. Finally, the Other WWW Flag Resources and Other WWW Links pages have been updated. The Ausflag WWW site now contains 187 pages of information, 71 flag images, 6 posters, and 8 cartoons.
Wednesday 14th – Five more Newspaper and Magazine Articles have been added. The Ausflag site has also recently been rated the AAA Top 1% of the Web by the Australian Announce Archive.
July 1996
Tuesday 30th – Vote for the Ausflag WWW site in Australia's inaugural Internet Awards! Information on the Australian Air Force Ensign has been added. A new section Quote of the Month! highlights a recent interesting, topical or controversial quote about the Australian flag. The list of Newspaper and Magazine Articles, Other WWW Flag Resources and Other WWW Links have been updated.
Saturday 6th – The Government has recently introduced its Flags Amendment Bill 1996 into Parliament. The latest developments in this debate are detailed in the Changing the flag: Referendum or Plebiscite? section. In particular, the text of the proposed bill and the second reading speech have been added - see the Flags Amendment Bill 1996 - and Ausflag's response in our latest Media Release. Six new newspaper articles have been added to our Newspaper and Magazine Articles page. The Ausflag WWW site now contains 165 pages of information, 5 posters and 68 flag images.
May 1996
Monday 13th - In view of the recent announcement by the Prime Minister regarding the flag, the Flag Debate section has been significantly expanded. A new section Changing the flag: Referendum or Plebiscite? has been added, with links to Ausflag's letter to John Howard, Ausflag's petition, and many newspaper articles. A total of 11 new newspaper articles have been added to our Newspaper and Magazine Articles page. Two new Ausflag Media Releases have been added. Ausflag recently invited the Australian National Flag Association to put forward its case for retention of the current flag. See their response on The Case Against Changing the Flag. Another book review has been added to the section on Australian Flag Books. Finally the Flag Journals and Other WWW Flag Resources pages have been updated.
April 1996
Tuesday 30th – The home page button bar has been moved so that it is immediately below the Ausflag logo. Four new and/or revised Ausflag posters have been included in the Ausflag section. The two new posters are The Commonwealth of Nations and Mad Cow Disease. The posters Growing Up and Australia's Identity Crisis have been revised. The Ausflag Membership Application Form has also been revised. A new section on Australian Flag Books has been added, starting with a review of Carol Foley's new book The Australian Flag – Colonial Relic or Contemporary Icon?.
March 1996
Friday 29th – A new button bar has been designed (see our section How to Navigate this Web), including a new button to go directly to our new section New Flag Designs which was previously under the Ausflag section. The information section has also been renamed to Reference Library. The latest newspaper clipping has been included in our Newspaper and Magazine Articles page. New flag links have been included in our Other WWW Flag Resources page, and information about SAVA (South African Vexillological Association) publications has been included in our Flag Journals page.
February 1996
Saturday 17th – As you have probably already noticed, we have redesigned our Home Page to make it less cluttered and speed up access for regular visitors, with text-only links to each major section at this site right at the top in addition to the graphical buttons at the bottom. Information on How to Navigate this Web is now on a separate page. A new article Replace the Union Jack with the Aboriginal Flag? has been added. Also, 10 more newspaper articles and opinion pieces have been added to the Flag Debate page and Newspaper and Magazine Articles page. Ausflag's latest Media Release has been added. Some additional information added regarding the Ken Done/Ausflag flags. And finally, this page will now only list updates for the current year. Previous years' updates are linked on this page.
Thursday 1st – Major site upgrade with the addition of 23 newspaper articles and 17 Ausflag media releases. The Ausflag WWW site now contains 121 pages of information and 67 flag images. Newspaper articles are now presented as plain text rather than scanned images, allowing us to include many more articles and you to get much faster downloading. Ausflag Media Releases are now included for reference. Many more opinion pieces and opinion polls are included on the Flag Debate page. Our article New State Flags? has been updated. The story behind the Ken Done/Ausflag flags has been added. And finally Mr Phillip Scanlan has joined the Ausflag board.

Saturday 20th – Added new Australia Day flag designs by Ken Done to the Proposed Australian Flags section. The page "Ausflag's Case for a New Australian Flag" split into two pages, A Brief History of Australian Flags and Why the Flag Should Change. Ausflag has new telephone and fax numbers - see the Ausflag – Who We are page. Added new newspaper articles to the Newspaper and Magazine Articles page.
