Clear majority support a new design for the Australian flag
Support for a new flag design has risen to its highest recorded levels, the Bulletin-Morgan poll has found.
People surveyed were asked: "Do you think Australia should have a new design for our National Flag?" A total of 52% (up 16% since June 1996) favoured a new design while 44% (down 12%) preferred to keep the current flag, and 4% were undecided.
